Day 23 – Your Debut

Today is the day you’ve been waiting for — the emergence of your new self. The first thing I want you to do is to take a deep, cleansing breath. Inhale, and then exhale through your mouth. You have now taken your first breath as a new creation — an ever-evolving conduit of God’s love. Sit for a second and let that revelation sit in your spirit. Now look in the mirror. Do you see the same person you saw on Day 11 when you looked in the mirror to gauge your progress toward your goal of surrender? Do you remember Day 13? I challenged you to pray for the woMAN in the mirror. Did you? Well, the person who is emerging today needs your prayers and your love in order to walk boldly with Father.

As you open the door and emerge from the wash cycle, you’re like a newborn baby — a little wet and  wrinkled. You may even cry because you’re alive! The light of day that you’re experiencing seems magnified because of the darkness you have endured. Everything you encounter today will be seen with new eyes — including the person you see in the mirror. You have been through the wringer, my friend, and you’re still here — fresh, clean, and available for service.

Take a moment now to pause and pray because you’re not quite ready. This is just the beginning. You may be thinking, I’ve been through the entire wash cycle. What more must I do? The answer is simple. You’re still a little wet behind the ears, but wisdom will come in time as you walk closer to thee. It’s time to hang you out to dry. Mimicking Jesus’ outstretched nail-pierced hands in this way is a reminder of his sacrifice for you. As you bathe in the sun, let his breath of life flow freely through you. Dance in the wind as David danced. As God whispers his promises and instructions to you through the gentle breeze, breathe them in. This is the breath of life that will fuel your ministry. May blessings abound! <3

  1. This series is empowering for self change. If remain motivated and keep trying everyday, then each day is a debut of oneself, surrendering and changing and becoming whole. Very beautiful series.
