Sunrise Sermon: No Words Necessary

God speaks in the stillness. Are you listening? Do you know his voice? As his sheep, we know the voice of the Good Shepherd. All we need to do to hear him is be still.

Now therefore stand still that I may plead with you before the Lord concerning all the righteous deeds of the Lord that he performed for you and for your fathers. ~1 Samuel 12:7

Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” ~Psalm 46:10

The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” ~ Exodus 14:14

And Moses said to them, “Wait, that I may hear what the Lord will command concerning you.” ~Numbers 9:8

It’s really simple. You can’t keep talking and expect to hear God’s soft whisper. Spending time in prayer is necessary, but babbling is not (Matthew 6:7). Consider following the commands of the scriptures I felt could add credence to my claim. My prayer for you is that you will be still, be silent, and wait to hear our Father’s voice. I trust that you’ll know it when you hear it. May blessings abound! <3

  1. Received this message loud and clear!

Hope all is well with you. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

  2. We don’t talk about silence enough. We’ve had lots of company, so I’m looking forward to a two-week break in December to be still and silent with attentive listening.
