Sunrise Sermon: New Life

Friday was the 48th anniversary of my birth, and I must admit it was a great day filled with all the things I love the most — laughter, love, hugs, and cake — plenty of cake. Later that night I gave birth as well — my second baby in two years. I know you’re thinking I’m a little old to be having babies, and you might be right; however, babies come when they’re ready, and mine were worth waiting for.

Baby number one came on November 1, 2015 in the form of my first blog post on Two Are Better Than One. Baby number two came Friday night in the form of a Community of Trailblazers. Even at the age of 48, you can still give birth if you’re filled with the Spirit of God and have a really good midwife. Thankfully, I had both.

I bet many of you are ready to give birth, but you’re focusing on the wrong things — your stretch marks and your weight gain. You’re eating the wrong things too — feeding your cravings with junk food that doesn’t satisfy, and you’re hungry and thirsty for something more. Stop and think about what God has placed in your heart rather than what he is doing in someone else’s life. What has he promised you? What are those deferred dreams that are threatening to dry up like a raisin in the sun? Don’t delay and don’t defer. Someone is waiting for you to take action and to birth something beautiful. God has already promised to give you hope and a future. All you need is good food, nurturing, and a midwife.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. ~Hebrews 10:24

We are not designed to navigate the world alone. We actually need each other to do life with, and that’s a welcome revelation. I started this Community of Trailblazers so that we could all work together to encourage, inspire, and support each other. Every woman in this group is extraordinary in some way –unique, blessed, and made in God’s image. Join our community by clicking here. You’ll be so glad you did. May blessings abound! <3
