God Is With Us

Happy Monday, friends! I trust that you had a great weekend — whether you reveled in the rays or rode a few waves, I hope that your weekend was amazing. As we prepare to celebrate our independence here in the United States, we might also reflect on the struggles associated with declaring our independence.

Think about the struggles associated with declaring your independence from your current situation. Are you ready to step out on faith and boldly claim what’s yours? If there’s even a hint of hesitation, I’d say you’re afraid.  I can’t judge you for being a little scared. Change is scary. Not having complete control of your future is a bit frightening when you consider stepping out alone. Yes, there are significant obstacles in your way, but they are not insurmountable.  The God of the hills and valleys sees you there and wants desperately to help you. Will you move over and let him? We all face similar obstacles, but what’s unique is our response to them. The Divine Strategist has already worked things out for your good. Your job is to trust him and know that he’s there in the valley with you. He’s there on the hilltop, and he’s certainly there as you journey from one place to the other.

When I heard Tauren Wells’ “Hills and Valleys” for the first time, I was struck by the simple, delicate melody, but I was also amazed by the beautiful way he illustrated God’s positioning of us on hills and his care as he attends to us in the valley. God’s love is a thing of beauty that we can’t bear to live without. It is what allows us to exist and serve as his hands and feet.  If you don’t yet know him, get to know him. If he seems far away, take the first step toward him and watch him draw close to you. The obstacle you see can be mounted, and the view from up there is breathtaking. All you have to do is declare your independence by taking the first step.

Before you leave, take a few minutes to enjoy my Music Monday selection for today by Tauren Wells entitled “Hills and Valleys.” May blessings abound! <3

  1. Happy Monday!! My life took a drastic change once I trusted God and started walking by Faith and not by Sight. Like magic doors started to open, people started coming into my life I never expected to. The road didn’t get easier but it got more bearable because I knew there was something better at the end of it all.

  2. Great post Sis! It’s definitely imperative that we move aside and allow God to work. It’s so easy to try to be in control because we aren’t aware of our own futures and the unknown. Awesome word! Blessings!

  3. Your words are so inspirational Michelle. I am so touched. God is truly working in you and through you. The song is beautiful – lovely, lovely words. My prayer for you is that God continues to bless you! Thank you!
