From My Heart to Yours

It’s been a while since I’ve written a letter — not an e-mail or a few words scribbled on a card. I mean an old school letter using a pen, stationery, an envelope, and a stamp. The kind of message that requires that you wait for its response in the mail — hoping that the recipient of your letter read it and immediately began to pen a response to you. Now, all you have to do is wait patiently.

Old school letter writing is like our relationship with God. He sends us messages that are perfectly crafted for each of us. When we hear these messages, we don’t always respond in a timely manner. That’s what he longs for I believe, but we don’t always give him what he deserves.

We give him what we can spare until there’s nothing left to spare. He won’t give up on us though. He continually sends us message  after message to remind us who he is.

I’m Jehovah Jireh, your provider.

I hear you, Lord, but I’m barely making ends meet. If you send me a better paying job with benefits, I promise to start tithing.

I’m Jehovah Nissi, under my banner, you will triumph over your troubles. Come to me.

_____

I’m here. I’ll never leave you. I won’t forsake you.

______

All I want is your heart – all of it, and together we can move mountains.

God, where did you go? I asked for a better paying job. Now I’m working two jobs. I’m tired. Everybody else is doing better than me. Why are you blessing them? I thought you loved me.

Dear Child,

I’ve been here all along; I haven’t left you. As for loving you, your mind can’t conceive how deeply I love you. Human love is finite and pales in comparison to mine. I’ve reached out to you many times each day, but you can’t hear my voice the way you did when you were a child.

You work so hard chasing paper (as you call it) and doing immoral things, that you don’t recognize my voice anymore. Money has become your god, but can Money give you rest? Can Money heal your broken heart? Can Money hear your cries for help when you can’t utter a word? Can your god give you perfect peace?

Only I AM can do all those things without fail. I AM the way, the truth, and the life. I AM mighty to save. Won’t you listen to me now and give me your heart today? I want it all –not what you can spare — all of it.

Waiting patiently,

Abba Father

Before you leave, turn up the volume and listen to my Music Monday selection by Forever Jones entitled “He Wants It All.” Listen for God’s voice above the busyness of your day and give him your heart. May blessings abound! <3
