Good Monday morning, friends! I trust that your weekend was filled with laughter and love. Mine was amazing! I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary; I just saw everything through fresh eyes. I attribute it all to spending time in Psalm 139. If you have not yet read it, take a little time to do so. It’s mind-blowing!
As I read it again this morning, I focused on verses 13-16 and marveled at the precision with which we were all created and the time it took to knit together each unique thread in this fine tapestry.
For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.~Psalm 139: 13-16
Imagine the hands of the Divine Weaver carefully determining your height, hair color and texture, skin tone, talents, abilities, gifts, and length of service to him. Your sense of humor, mind for numbers, culinary art, eye for photography, heart for orphans, spirit of giving, deft hands for building — all uniquely yours. I can’t imagine a love so great that I matter as much to him as anyone else on Earth. No competition, no sibling rivalry, just love sweet love for each of his children.
If you don’t yet know him, there’s no greater time than the present. Seek him while he may still be found, and get to know him by some of his well-known names: Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace, El Shaddai, Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Rapha, I AM, and Abba Father. After all, he already knows your name.
Before you leave today, turn up the volume and enjoy my Music Monday selection by Francesca Battistelli entitled “He Knows My Name.” Walk with your head held high today — knowing that you’re already famous in our Father’s eyes.
