Spice It Up!

Good morning, friends! Are you ready to start this day? It’s brand new –just like God’s mercies. Yesterday is gone, and we’re starting with a clean slate — tabula rasa! What will you write on your clean slate? Will you be kind and generous to others, or will you finally be kind to yourself? How about dusting off the treadmill and walking a mile or so? Today is a good day to do something different or just spice up your routine a little. This Louisiana girl is a firm believer that a little spice makes everything better.

This morning I’m planning to add a little creole seasoning to my morning routine. After prayer and bible study time, I’m hitting the treadmill, pumping up the volume on my Pandora radio, and donning my favorite Lularoe leggings. Guys, you can wear them too. We’ll just call them Meggings. Men’s + leggings = Meggings. Get it? Hey, I can add to the lexicon too.

I don’t always get on the treadmill, but today is a special day. No, it’s not my anniversary, but it feels like it. I have 30 extra minutes to use as I please. So before heading out to professional development, I’m going to fill my heart with the word of God, sing a little praise music, and eat a heart healthy breakfast.

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? ~1 Corinthians 6:19

Take good care of your temple. You only get one. I devoured a half rack of ribs and a large quantity of walnut fudge yesterday, so it’s time for me to make amends with the Holy Spirit. I hope your day is a great one. Remember to add a little spice to it.

Before you leave, pump up the volume and dance a little as you listen to my Music Monday selection from Mandisa and Toby Mac entitled “Good Morning.” May blessings abound! <3

  1. So, you’ve done it again, Michelle…you’ve made my heart sing with joy and praise. I am so grateful for the blessing that is you…for the blessings that flow through you…I love and trust your narration–it is so nurturing and rings so true…and that song, what a song…it had me smiling ear to ear! You have a gift for engagement and encouragement that is just so special…thanks for sharing πŸ™‚

      1. I’m home sick (with a recurring cough and cold) and read your post/listened to the song at 1:30 a.m. or so (woke up coughing)….the timing of your message was just perfect, because I was feeling somewhat defeated…I’d been praying, though…and, God answered my prayer…He provided an ‘annointing of ease’ through you…and, I woke up today, and am easily able to count many blessings…including being paid for a sick day…unexpectedly having an expected bill paid that was the same amount as an unexpected bill I had to pay a couple weeks ago….the sun is shining after a weekend of grey skies…and, you let me know that I did something to lift your spirits….thank you for taking the time and making the effort to connect…God bless you, my friend πŸ™‚

        1. Please take care of yourself. Everyone I work with has had one or two bouts of the crud. I’ve had the viral kind and strep. Try to get plenty of rest and hydrate. Praise God for easing your discomfort. This, too, shall pass. <3

    1. We all need to focus on self care. I’m glad you’re aware of your needs; now it’s time to do something about it. Take care, and thanks for stopping by. πŸ˜€

  2. Wow, I thank God so much for letting me be able to clean my slate. I will write my daily affirmations each morning! Thank you πŸ™‚
